Installer II
Position Summary
- Install complete small security system with minimal supervision, and explain installation to customer.
- Perform system alterations and additions, and service systems as required.
Essential Job Functions
- Establish positive contact with customer.
- Explain installation to customer.
- Install system in a timely manner and to company standards.
- Run necessary system test.
- Process necessary documentation.
- Provide assistance and on-the-job guidance to new hires.
- Assist other technicians as required.
- Provide 24-hour on call support that may be required even on weekends and holidays.
- All other miscellaneous responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
Experience
- 1-2 years alarm installation experience required.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills/Qualifications
- Written and spoken English language skills required.
- Good communication skills required.
- Good customer service skills required.
- Basic knowledge of construction, electronic theory, and electrical wiring required.
- Demonstrated ability to read maps and travel independently required.
- Demonstrated ability to program, install, troubleshoot, and explain simple residential and commercial security systems required.
- Valid CDL required.
Computer Skills
- No computer skills required.
Installer III
Position Summary
- Install complete burglar, fire, card access, and CCTV Security systems, and explain installation to customer.
- Perform system alterations and additions, and service systems as required.
Essential Job Functions
- Establish positive contact with customer.
- Explain installation to customer.
- Prepare installation equipment.
- Install system in a timely manner and to company standards.
- Run necessary system test.
- Process necessary documentation.
- Provide assistance and on-the-job guidance to new hires.
- Assist other technicians as required.
- Provide 24 hour on call support that may be required even on weekends and holidays.
- All other miscellaneous responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
Experience
- 2-3 years alarm installation/electrical experience required.
- 4-5 years preferred.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills/Qualifications
- Written and spoken English language skills required.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills required.
- Basic knowledge of construction, electronic theory, and electrical wiring.
- Demonstrated ability to read maps and travel independently required.
- Demonstrated ability to program, install, troubleshoot, and explain simple residential and commercial security systems required.
- Basic knowledge of UL, NFPA, NEC, and building standards.
- Valid CDL required.
Computer Skills
- Basic data entry and retrieval skills required.
- Intermediate word processing competence preferred.
Installer IV
Position Summary
- Install complex burglar, fire, card access, and CCTV security systems, and explain installation to customer.
- Perform system alterations and additions, and service systems as required.
Essential Job Functions
- Establish positive contact with customer.
- Explain installation to customer.
- Prepare installation equipment.
- Install system in a timely manner and to company standards.
- Run necessary system test.
- Process necessary documentation.
- Provide formal training and assistance to new hires.
- Perform system alterations and additions.
- Service malfunctioning alarms and alarm systems which have been switched to new owners.
- Supervise a work group through other supervisors.
- Provide formal training to others.
- Fill in for Installation Supervisor as needed.
- All other miscellaneous responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
Experience
- 4-5 years alarm installation/electrical experience required.
- 6-10 years preferred.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills/Qualifications
- Written and spoken English language skills required.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills required.
- Basic knowledge of construction, electronic theory, and electrical wiring.
- Thorough knowledge of UL and NFPA standards.
- Demonstrated ability to read maps and travel independently required.
- Demonstrated ability to program, install, troubleshoot, and explain residential and commercial security systems required.
- Basic knowledge of NEC and building codes and standards.
- Valid CDL required.
Computer Skills
- Intermediate word processing competence required.
- Windows Competence preferred.
